The global economy depends on getting products from point A to point B in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective way. That’s why people who specialize in supply chain management are in such high demand.

In a survey by the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), almost two-thirds of Canadian supply chain professionals landed their current position within three months of starting their search. What’s more, most of those individuals enjoy their work: in a separate survey by ASCM and Supply Chain Canada, 69 per cent of respondents were happy with their jobs, rating their satisfaction at least eight on a scale of one to 10.

There’s no limit to what you can imagine and create in the magical world of 3D animation, visual effects, and CGI.

But just what is 3D animation? It’s the process of making digital images appear to move in a three-dimensional space. A 2D cartoon animator creates flat objects that have only length and width; a 3D animator adds depth as well, so that the characters can move and rotate following the same principles as in the real world.

So how do you get started? In this post, we explain how to become a 3D animator, what career paths are available in the field, and what steps can best set you up for success.

Unless we opt to live on an isolated island, we will experience many relationships throughout our lifetimes. These include family, significant others, friends, classmates, colleagues, and a host of other acquaintances. Navigating these relationships can pose challenges.

As an experienced psychiatric nurse and instructor in Herzing’s Community Support Worker (CSW) program, Kim Melnyk was used to having lots of in-person interactions with students and people in recovery. She wasn’t the biggest fan of technology; she much preferred a more personal touch.

So when COVID came along and forced her to shift to teaching online, she had to make some major adjustments.

Initially, Kim was very much looking forward to a return to class post-pandemic. But when it started to occur, she found that it did not solve the problems she thought it would. Instead, she found herself doing more and more interaction online—and discovering benefits she had never considered before.

We spoke with her recently to learn more about her experience.
